we are animal lovers. the name of our company was inspired by our very unique cat, “butter”, who never ceased to impress the people she met, including ones who weren’t necessarily cat fans. She was sweet and innocent, affectionate and comical, and the most un-catlike cat you’ve ever met. we miss her and are proud to honor her.

we are nature lovers. we love taking hikes in the mountains with our beagles, and we love “rockhounding”; looking for interesting rocks and minerals to bring home.

here, on our small farm in the Hudson valley, perhaps inspired by the beauty and nature around us, we decided to turn our dining room into a studio. we managed to create a metalsmithing area, a lapidary area, and fit a pottery wheel and glazing area, into this one small space.

so now we are makers, and we enthusiastically take what the earth has already provided in the way of rocks, gems, crystals, clays, and metals, and we turn it into art.
